This year the 2010 Forum and Annual Meeting is being held on April 16-18th at the Holiday Inn Syracuse, Liverpool, NY. If anyone is interested in going, we will need to make the arrangements ahead of time. There is a weekend full of scheduled events that will be brought to the next meeting. You will need to let me know if you are interested at this week's meeting. There will be much information provided as well as lunch and dinner!
Also, there has been much news on the recent controversy in Congress about the state wanting to take our snowmobile revenue for their own use. Make sure that you do your part and go to the NYSSA website and printout, sign and mail the example letters they have to make sure this doesn't occur. The website to visit is: nyssnowassoc.org
We thank everyone for their participation if trimming the trail on Treadlemire. There was lots of help, which seemed to make the job go easier for everyone!
There was a showing of new grooming equipment at Fred and Barb's house of a rangerunner. The club is currently looking into purchasing something like this to help groom our trails.
There will be a board meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of the month of March at the Town of Wright. It will be to discuss Treadlemire as a designated snowmobile trail. I am unsure of the time of that meeting.
The Town of Berne Supervisor is being written a letter to re-route the 7G trail and request roads near Partridge Run.
New trails are being obtained all the time. Make sure that you are riding on the trail designated and that there is enough snow!!! Just because there is snow doesn't mean you should go! It is important that we respect our landowners and their properties. If you are unsure where the trail goes, please make sure you find out before taking the path unknown!!! And remember the sidewalks are not meant for motorized vehicles!!! Do not ride your snowmobile on them.
